1st year, London life

I don't reckon my blog to receive much hits, especially when there are way so many others out with more hot posts to go around, you know, the usual topics, politics, economic crisis and the same blah which made the headlines every single day without fail. It is ironic actually, when we come to think of it, the media works by publishing issues that they think appeal to the public, and on the other hand, the public is counting on the media to report what is going about around the globe. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the media is still a business entity, like or not, they'd have to go with what actually sells. Anyway, enough rambling about the media. 1st year is officially over now that exams are over, so it is finally time for me to write about my own personal experience about the transition into becoming a uni student. First and foremost, I must warn you though, given that I am such a lazy sloth, my story may not be too appealing, unlike those of which you normally hea

A lesson from nature...

I spent the whole of yesterday out with Ucop, an old friend of mine from SAS. He was my dorm mate, we lived in the same dorm together for five long years. Well alright, four years to be more precise as he became a prefect when we were form 5. He came to UK all the way from Australia to attend the Westlife Farewell concert in the O2 Stadium last week. Quite an effort huh, to literally travel half-way across the globe just to attend a concert. But then again, given that it is a Westlife concert, it was totally worth it. Besides, after this they are breaking up, so what the heck, let us celebrate their greatness one last time, there is no wrong in that I suppose. While we were walking our way through Hyde park yesterday, enjoying the good sunny day, we came across something really amazing. Other than seeing plenty of skin lying around on their backs on the patches of greenery, we saw something even more beautiful. As we were walking around the Round Pond, we witnessed a duck nesting on

What I did in past exams

Exams are always so interesting because of the atmosphere they create around one self. Isn't it simply amazing how one could possibly make hundreds of youngsters to sit down in a huge hall ever so quietly for a couple of hours or so? Each is left to face the same exact blank answer booklets with what is in their heads as the only working tool at their disposal. Alright, to expect too much from one's head is too much, I really must admit. It is in a way unfair for one to be judged solely based on what he/she is capable of writing within a limited amount of time, but as they say, it is an examination, which was supposed to be a measure of one's comprehension of a certain subject. So yeah, whatever. If that is the way how it is supposed to be played, lets play by their rules then. Sitting for exams can do wonders to you. Well at least it did to me. I can still remember back when I did my PMR exams, when I was done with my objective papers, I would use the time to draw mysel

OST Exams 2012

As always when I do my exams, well when I do almost everything, there must always be some song that keeps playing on inside of my head and I believe that this is true not just to myself but pretty much everybody else out there too. When I did my SPM trial, it so happened that the song was One Step at A Time by Jordin Sparks. This year, the song is this one, Us Against The World by Westlife. It is fate that I stumbled into this song while I was busy doing my revision and quickly browsing through my music list on me computer. Before this, I never even knew that they had a song like this. It is sad that when I did some research that it so happened that Westlife is currently on their UK farewell tour, they are finally splitting up after 17 years or more I think. They have become a very successful boy band which shaped the entire music industry worldwide.

First year exams, tick~

Done with my first year here in UCL! Wahooo!!! Yesterday as I walked out of Porchester Hall, I could not help but to feel so free that I decided to take the extra 15 minutes walk and take the tube from Paddington station instead. Seven papers in three weeks time. Sure, it may sound like there is not much pressure, but believe me, it's not what you think at all. It is mental torture I tell you! all seven down~ Imagine waking up each morning counting down the days till your next paper, reminding yourself how much time you have left to revise your stuff and chapters left needed to be covered. If you still don't believe me, ask my rommate! Haha won't be needing that exam card anymore  All in all, it went alright. Do I think I could have done better? Yeah, surely I do, but given the time and the situation I was in, I can honestly say that I really try to make the very best out of it all. There were so many things which occurred throughout this past three weeks

Exam nervous breakdown

So get this, last week, the night before my first paper, which was Management Principles, yes the one when I got the wrong hall the other day, I had quite a serious nervous breakdown. Frankly speaking, the vision was haunting me for days even before that, but that night it got worse. I had a vision that I was at my exam venue, all ready to face my exam. Then all of a sudden, just before I set foot inside the hall, my phone buzzed, a terribly horrific from home, a terrible thing happened to my parents. Can you imagine it, when one receives news like this, surely the only right thing to do is to drop everything that you are doing that very second and rush back home as soon as you can. But I have my exams, so should I contain that nerving feeling in my heart that is telling every cell in my body that I should be home now and take the exam first, or is this the time when sacrifices should be made, for a greater cause? I broke down the immediate moment that vision came to me. I was lite

This week's exams; life changing chat with Pizza Park guy

Yeap, I'm finally done for this week. All three papers for this week are done, finally! Unfortunately though, today's paper was not so good. It was quite terrible if I may say so myself. Not that what came out was unexpected, the issues which came out were exactly the ones which Sara predicted to be asked, but the demand of the questions were a bit much. Not to mention how crowded it was in Porchester Hall! The invigilator even ran into my table while she was too busy running to hand someone extra answer sheets. Yeah, that was a bit distracting, other than that, I was just so glad when it was time to hand our answers in. All I could think off at that time was that I need to quickly get the hell out of this place and buy something to eat or sit, or whatever. Porchester hall. WIll be coming back here a lot. Bishopgate Institute, my 1st exam venue where I got lost last Monday. Commuting all over London just to get to exam venues is something new to me, and frankly it is
