Song of the week

Image
Why I like this song : Quite frankly, I've heard this song being played on the radio back when I was driving in Malaysia. At the time, I was not so sure who the artist was, but all I know was that she sure could sing. Heck, I even thought that it was either Yuna or one of those young rising stars, you know, this being the era of Najwa Latif and all. Until yesterday when Nick played this song on his lappy. Does this song have anything to do with my mood at present? Well, urmmm I guess so, yeah it does. But given that I only have one more week to spare before the beginning of a new academic  year, I guess I should start warming up and continue with my daily routine last year, and adapt if necessary given that the circumstances have changed now that I am now staying at quite a distance from campus. Missing you.......

Malaysia Education Blueprint: Preliminary report; what I like about it

Image
Investing in education is one of the main priority of governments all over the world as it is one of the main pillars of development. In recent days, we hear about incidents all over the world attempting to transform educational policies, like in America, particularly in Chicago where teachers held a strike which started off last week, demanding better assessment for teachers and many more, meanwhile on Tuesday, here in the UK it was made known that the infamous GCSE will soon be replaced with the English Baccalaurate in 2017 , finally back at home, our country the release of the preliminary report of the Malaysia Education Blueprint for the period of 2013-2025 received rather mixed reactions all over. So yes, as you can see, this month not only marks the beginning of a new academic year to most of us, rather the air carries with it the essence of global educational overhaul. Countries all over the world have endlesssly work their way over the years to come up with the best possible

Song of the week

Why I like this song: I am pretty sure that this song is familiar to most of you guys out there, but nevertheless, it just suits my mood. To go back to 'merantau' again is never an easy thing to do; if you think that for a guy who left home since he was thirteen years old this should be routine, the truth is, it's not as simple as it looks. Everytime I get on the road, my heart will long for home, thinking about those who I left behind, hoping & praying hard to God to keep them safe. This one's for you...

Back in London

Image
Alhamdulillah I am now back in London. It all happened so fast that it made me felt so surreal. When we left home yesterday evening, I must confess that I honestly felt as if we were about to head back to Terengganu instead of sending me off back to London, like seriously! Plus, the wait in the KLIA also did not help to calm me down either. At first I was pretty anxious to know whether my luggage will make it pass the check-in guy or not, but once it was done, things began to get emotional. BYE RUMAH~ One last look at the neighbourhood Going to miss the Sun, and dad It all started when I went down the escalator for immigration, you know the infamous goodbye near the McD in KLIA, but this time I decided to take a different escalator to avoid the crowd. I hugged and kissed my parents, shook hands with Amalina and her family, then I'm off.  Boarding pass in hand, so sad, why must go? My last meal, pulut kuning! Yumm!  As I headed to the boardin

Sleeq ft. Najwa Latif - Untuk Dia (Acoustic Version) Why I like this song?: To begin with, I don't even know who Najwa Latif actually is. I've heard of that name long ago, but I've always thought that she must have been one of my friends' sister or something like that. Sorry, but I don't really follow all this VLog or famous bloggers, they just don't appeal to my interest. I started to know this song when I was driving back to my kampung in Kemaman during the Raya holiday. It came up on the radio and it sounded funky to me. Then being a curious bug that I am, I started to look it up on the Internet until I stumbled upon this acoustic version of it. Nice huh~ The lyrics are not so bad, but come on, for a mixed song such as this one, you shouldn't put your hopes too high, eh? Enjoy~ I leave the rest to you.......

Summer summary

Image
My summer is coming to an end in a few days time. Sigh~ I am so not ready to go back yet, but what can I do, it is part of my job and whether I like it or not, I have to do it otherwise. So the question is, did I enjoyed my summer holiday being home for three months? Frankly speaking it has been a blast! I was totally caught off guard with the internship and all. First thing which is to me the most important thing which occurred to me was when I met Rahimah. I met her totally by chance and it all spiraled from there. I never expected that I will be able to care about someone after what happened with, well you know, Sabrina. Oh how destiny works in a mysterious way. She is different from girls I normally met. Different how? Well, you don't expect me to give you all the details do you? I know the circumstances are a bit different between the two of us, but that does not mean it will not work, not until we give it a try? Dia seorang yang matang pemikirannya, sungguhpun dia kuat berg

Two months internship experience

Image
Two months of internship in the Bank had been an undoubtedly memorable experience for me.  The first few weeks were a bit boring, the fact that I needed some time to adjust and digest the information left me with pretty much nothing to do. It was awkward to be in the working environment when you are too used to being a student. What more when the shift involved a sudden jump into an organization with such a broad scope of work such as the Bank. The job scope is simply too wide, so expect not to know everything, unless you are that good, I personally am not.  Surely I am not at liberty to really discuss what I have been asked to do the two months I am there since this blog is too public. But all I can tell you is it really is a worthwhile experience. Getting used to the routine was tiring at first, but given how fun and exciting the people working there provided me was exactly the push I needed to get me out of bed. If you were to ask Amirul from Legal, he would know how I would k

Registration in UIA

Earlier today I went to UIA to send my friend off on her registration day. It is a big day for her because it has been years since she left studying and since her family could not accompany her to the registration today, I felt obliged to drive her there. At least she won't have to go through it all alone. This has got to be the earliest I ever woke up on a Sunday! When we got there at 9, there was already a lot of people queuing for registration at the CAC. I found myself smiling thinking that this was supposed to be where I would have been if I hadn't accepted the scholarship from the Bank. Had I decided to do engineering 4 years ago, this will surely be my playground instead of me having to go all the way to London. To be honest with you, I sometimes do wonder how would it be like if I were to say yes to UIA four years ago? Well to begin with, I would have never met this friend of mine in the first place. Second, it would surely be much easier for me since it is so close
